Product Description

Carbon Xerogels are nanostructured porous carbon materials in which porosity can be tailored to meet special requirements. NANOLIT® Xerogel Quantum are made by a polymerization process of resorcinol and formaldehyde, and drying at ambient temperature. This materials are subsequently pyrolyzed and activated for giving higher surface area ( 800-1000) m2/g and an ideal micropore/mesopore volume ratio. The use of ambient drying narrows the pore size distribution spectrum that can be achieved compared to carbon aerogels, but it has the advantage of a much lower cost and that Carbon Xerogels can be used in many applications where a special combination of medium to wide mesoporosity and microporosity is not needed.
