NANOLIT® Carbon Aerogels are a family of AEROGELS with different controlled porosity, interesting for processes like catalysis, electrosorption of ions or wet advanced oxidation. NANOLIT® Carbon Aerogels are obtained by pyrolysis of the organic aerogels. The most relevant properties are their high surface area, between 700 and 1200 m2/g, and specific micropore/mesopore volume ratio for ion adsorption. The pore size distribution can be properly taylored to meet specific requirements regarding molecular sizes and diffusion rates. NANOLIT® Carbon Aerogel is ideal for use as a catalyst in gas or liquid phase applications, or as an electrode material for supercapacitors when fast charge-discharge rates are needed.
